At Gamooga, we work and live by the philosophy “work hard, party harder.” With the dawn of a new year, it was time for Gamoogans to embrace new enthusiasm and positivity and what better way to do it than with some fun mixed in it.
Colleagues and management of Gamooga kick started 2019 at the Leonia Holistic Destination to rekindle their energy as well as team spirit. Company Retreats are a great way to make the team acquainted on a closer level and with Gamooga’s family getting bigger every year, it was time to make the new additions feel a part of it too.
Unwinding in style, the day begun with a somewhat off-pitched bus ride with everyone trying their hand at making a parody of every great song possible (*ruined forever*). First round of selfies and boomerangs while begun back in office, the bus ride was not behind at all.
Among the anticipation and fantasies of the great buffet spread waiting at the Leonia Resort, we arrived there in style with another selfie marking the beginning of a crazy day.
Sheep & the Shepherds
While everyone couldn’t stop themselves from getting their hands on some delicious food and deserts, our fun managers had something much spicier in mind. Yes, it was our first team activity – Sheep and Shepherds wherein handpicked Shepherds had to show their convincing power and add maximum number of sheep (colleagues and managers) to their teams.
Mayhem showered when the clever combination of born leaders and underdogs hit the crowd with all kinds of bribery and friendly emotional blackmails. While some were not even satisfied with entire office being a part of their team, others struggled convincing even a single soul. All in fun spirit ended with marketing team emerging as winners by using the best kind of bribery tactics in market 😉 .
The Grand Buffet
Finally, not just foodies but everyone rejoiced because it was time to hit the grand buffet hall that offered not 2, 3 or 4 delicacies but four corners of endless choices and everything better than the last. While some attacked the desert section first, others couldn’t get over the absolute fish and chicken delicacies. No wonder, we fell behind schedule with Lunch time lasting one hour more than scheduled. Well, can’t blame anyone!
Few more selfies and rounds of buffet later we all head out for few more group activities to mellow down before a great set of sports activities planned.
Sweating it out!
The team found itself torn between hitting the pool first or indulging in a game of friendly cricket match. Even before we could say which, all the boys had already vanished to feel the mighty cricket ground. But, with no lack of activities to get into at the resort not everyone was up for spending the whole afternoon being the audience of a cricket match.
Girls from marketing team and CST got their hands on badminton rackets and indulged in binge matches of some exciting and hardcore badminton followed by a round of shooting hoops.
Not everyone was intrigued with the thought of sweating on a warm afternoon and so they went for the more refreshing option of making a splash at the pool. Well, looking at how much fun they had shaking a leg in the rain dance, it was definitely recommended.
Few people are never happy sticking to just one activity. We like to call them “explorers.” With Leonia offering so many activities at disposal, our explorers left nothing behind and tried their hands at rifle shooting, archery as well as adrenaline pumping GoKarting!
You might think an afternoon full of so many activities and so much blood pumping might have done the job. But, our team doesn’t like to say ‘I am done’ so quickly! We still had an hour of volleyball match to look forward to with our very own CEO showing off some great skills in the court. The match turned out to be so interesting that I am sure nobody even remembers the score, just some fantastic dives and saves.
End we weren’t waiting for…
As the day came to a close, every one headed to the dining hall once again for a relaxing tea/coffee session and scrumptious snacks. Well, it was the end we weren’t waiting for, but as the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end.” With some great memories and bruises to take home, everyone headed back to the buses and cars to say goodbye to a day that couldn’t have been more perfect.
Until next year folks!
